1. Introduction

This Profile Standards Policy sets out the rules and expectations governing member profiles on Mentor to Marry.

The purpose of this Policy is to promote authenticity, support community safety, reduce deception, encourage meaningful connections, support trust between members, protect the integrity of the platform and complement the Safeguarding & Community Safety Policy.

Authentic and accurate profiles help create a safer and more trustworthy environment for relationship building and marriage-focused connections.

This Policy should be read alongside the Statement of Faith, Platform Values & Community Principles, Community Guidelines & Code of Conduct, Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Safeguarding & Community Safety Policy, Matching Platform Terms, Messaging & Communications Policy and Account Suspension & Enforcement Policy.

2. Purpose of Profiles

Profiles exist to help members present themselves honestly, build trust, communicate relationship intentions, engage in matching features, participate in the community, learn about potential matches and pursue Christ-centred relationships and marriage.

Profiles must provide a fair and accurate representation of the member.

Profiles must not be used to deceive, manipulate, impersonate, defraud, advertise, recruit, solicit money, promote businesses or mislead other members.

3. Profile Ownership

Each profile must belong solely to the person operating the account.

Members must not create profiles for another person, a friend, a family member, a church member, a client, a spouse, a third party or a fictitious person.

Group profiles and joint profiles are not permitted.

Each user may maintain only the number of accounts specifically permitted by Mentor to Marry.

4. Identity and Authenticity

Members must provide information that is substantially accurate and truthful.

Members must not impersonate another individual, use another person’s identity, create fake personas, create misleading accounts, use synthetic identities, falsely claim verification, misrepresent relationship intentions, misrepresent Christian beliefs, conceal material information where required by platform standards or deliberately mislead other members.

Authenticity is expected throughout the profile. Members must ensure that profile information remains current and accurate.

5. Required Profile Information

Mentor to Marry may require profile information including first name, age, sex at birth, marital status, country, city, church or regular place of Christian fellowship, profession, profile photographs, relationship intentions, biography information and other information determined by the platform.

Mandatory profile fields must be completed accurately.

Providing false information may result in moderation action, restriction, suspension or account removal.

6. Ongoing Duty to Update

Members must update their profile promptly where material information changes.

Material information may include marital status, location, church or regular place of Christian fellowship, relationship intentions, eligibility for matching services, profile photograph accuracy or other information relevant to trust and safety.

Failure to update material information may be treated as misleading conduct where it affects member trust, safety or eligibility.

7. Age Requirements

Mentor to Marry is intended only for Christians aged 25 years and over.

Members must enter their correct age and must not falsify age, manipulate age information, create profiles that conceal age or use another person’s age information.

Age misrepresentation may result in suspension or removal.

8. Sex at Birth

Mentor to Marry may require members to provide sex at birth as a profile or eligibility field.

Members must provide this information truthfully where requested.

Members must not misrepresent sex at birth or use profile information in a way that deceives other members about identity or eligibility for matching services.

9. Marital Status Requirements

For participation in matching services, permitted marital status categories are:

Never Married;

Divorced; or

Widowed.

Married persons are not eligible to participate in matching services.

Members must not misrepresent their marital status, conceal an existing marriage, create the impression they are unmarried if they are not, mislead members regarding eligibility for marriage or provide false relationship status information.

Mentor to Marry may treat marital status deception as a serious trust and safeguarding issue.

10. Christian Identity and Church Information

Mentor to Marry is a Christian platform.

Members must not intentionally misrepresent Christian faith, church or regular place of Christian fellowship, ministry involvement, spiritual leadership, relationship beliefs or faith commitments.

Members are expected to complete faith-related and church-related profile information honestly and respectfully.

Mentor to Marry does not require members to use a denominational label unless such a field is introduced later. Where church information is requested, members should provide their church or regular place of Christian fellowship truthfully.

11. Profile Photographs

Profile photographs should reasonably represent the member, be recent, be clear, be appropriate, be respectful, match the profile owner and support authentic engagement.

Members must not use another person’s photographs, celebrity photographs, stock images, AI-generated images presented as genuine photographs, heavily misleading edited photographs, organisation logos as primary profile images, deceptive photographs or images that create a false impression of identity.

Mentor to Marry may request replacement photographs.

12. Photograph Standards

Profile photographs must not be materially outdated, heavily filtered or altered in a misleading way, primarily feature another person, include children as the focus of the image, include another identifiable person without appropriate consent, display nudity or sexually suggestive content, display luxury items or money in a scam-like manner, include contact details, QR codes or social media handles, or be AI-generated and presented as genuine photographs.

Photographs must not include illegal, violent, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, fraud-related or otherwise offensive content.

Images should be suitable for a Christian relationship and marriage-focused environment.

13. Profile Biography Standards

Profiles should provide a truthful and respectful description of the member.

Profile biographies may include faith journey, interests, hobbies, values, relationship intentions, career information, ministry involvement, aspirations and other appropriate personal information.

Biographies must not contain deceptive claims, threats, harassment, discriminatory statements, financial solicitation, scam-related content, false credentials, misleading relationship information or prohibited content.

14. Relationship Intentions

Members should describe relationship intentions honestly.

Members must not intentionally mislead others regarding desire for marriage, relationship readiness, relationship goals, dating intentions or long-term expectations.

Mentor to Marry is intended to support Christ-centred relationships and marriage-focused connections.

15. No Financial or Business Solicitation

Profiles must not be used to request money, advertise investments, promote business opportunities, solicit donations, sell products, recruit members into schemes or direct users to external financial arrangements.

Members must not use profile text, images, links or implied status to create financial pressure, promote scams, solicit support or exploit trust within the community.

Mentor to Marry may remove or restrict profiles that appear to be used for financial exploitation, commercial solicitation, recruitment or improper external promotion.

16. Prohibited Profile Content

Profiles must not contain false information, fake identities, scam content, financial requests, fundraising requests, investment opportunities, business promotions, misleading claims, intimidation, threats, harassment, bullying, discriminatory content, unlawful content, impersonation, spam, repeated external links, attempts to bypass platform controls or content inconsistent with platform policies.

17. Contact Information and Location Privacy

Members should avoid publishing unnecessary personal contact information in profile fields.

Mentor to Marry may restrict publication of personal telephone numbers, personal email addresses, home addresses, workplace addresses, financial information, payment details, social media handles or other sensitive information.

Members should not publish exact home addresses, workplace addresses, live location information or other precise location details in their profiles.

This helps protect privacy and safety while still allowing appropriate country and city-level location discovery where platform features permit.

18. Verification

Mentor to Marry may introduce verification processes, including profile reviews, document checks, email verification, telephone verification, identity confirmation, app-based verification or other verification measures.

Verification may reduce uncertainty but does not guarantee future conduct, character, sincerity, compatibility or relationship readiness.

Members must not falsely claim to be verified or use badges, language or profile statements to mislead others about verification status.

19. Profile Reviews and Moderation

Mentor to Marry may review profiles after publication, following reports, during moderation checks, during investigations, or where automated or manual checks indicate a possible concern.

Mentor to Marry does not currently require routine moderator review of every profile before publication unless that process is introduced later.

Profile reviews may be conducted to assess compliance with this Policy, Community Guidelines, Terms of Use, Safeguarding rules and other platform policies.

20. Profile Changes

Members may update profiles from time to time.

Updates must remain accurate, truthful, respectful and compliant with platform rules.

Mentor to Marry may request corrections where information appears inaccurate, misleading or incomplete.

21. Reporting Profile Concerns

Members are encouraged to report profiles that appear to involve false identity, fake photographs, impersonation, deception, misleading marital status, fraudulent activity, scams, inappropriate content, safeguarding concerns or policy breaches.

Reports will be assessed in accordance with applicable platform procedures.

22. Profile Signals Are Not Endorsements

A published profile, membership badge, verification badge, course completion badge, profile visibility, recommendation, like or match does not mean that Mentor to Marry endorses the member, verifies compatibility, confirms character, guarantees relationship readiness or approves the member as suitable for courtship or marriage.

Members remain responsible for exercising wisdom, discernment and appropriate caution when interacting with others.

23. Enforcement

Where a profile breaches this Policy, Mentor to Marry may request edits, remove content, restrict profile visibility, require profile verification, suspend profile functionality, pause matching features, restrict messaging, suspend membership, terminate accounts or take other proportionate action.

Serious deception, identity fraud, marital status deception, catfishing, financial exploitation or safeguarding concerns may result in immediate action without prior warning.

24. No Guarantee

Mentor to Marry encourages authenticity and may undertake moderation and verification activities.

However, Mentor to Marry does not guarantee that all profiles are accurate, all profile information is truthful, all photographs are genuine, all members are sincere, all members are compatible or all relationships will be successful.

Members remain responsible for exercising wisdom, discernment and appropriate caution.

25. Changes to This Policy

Mentor to Marry may update this Policy from time to time. Revisions may occur due to platform development, safeguarding requirements, operational needs, user feedback, technological developments, legal developments or governance improvements.

Updated policies may be published on the website or platform.

26. Contact
